In 2024 we continued our partnership with FoodCloud who collect and redistribute surplus food in communities throughout Ireland and beyond. Obair operate a weekly Food Market which caters for local people accessing Obair’s services. This shop is made up of our weekly FoodCloud deliveries as well as other daily essentials that we provide with support from CAF and other donations.

“Thank you for being part of a transformative network of over 674 community groups across the country who are using surplus food in their services, and helping us to promote a less wasteful, more equitable and more circular food system.

In 2024 we worked together to:

• Redistribute 3896 tonnes of surplus food in Ireland, equating with over 9.25 million meals!!

• Stop 8,960,000 tonnes of carbon emissions from being released into the atmosphere!!

Not bad for 355 days of work!!

We also want to share with you all the great work your organisation Obair, has done in one year to take Climate Action on food waste through food redistribution.  Attached to this mail is your own impact report detailing the impact of all your hard work, using surplus food to deliver your services.  It’s time to celebrate your achievements!
